A Brighter School Year 2010-2011!!!
Welcome to a great new year at St. Henry! The library is off to a great start with the addition of a smart board! I can't wait to utilize this new technology. Accelerated Reader is off and running. The link on our website is currently under construction but you can still access AR Bookfinder by following the directions on my blog to enter the site. The annual Book Fair is set for the week of Oct. 25-29. Many volunteers are needed to make this successful. Please consider donating some of your time. Also, I am always looking for library volunteers to do a variety of tasks in the school library. Let me know if you have some interest and some extra time available. I can always put you to work!

BOOK PUBLISHING!!!
Students in Grades K-5 will be publishing books this month! All work for K-2 will be completed at school. All you will have to do is look for a letter coming home in a few weeks explaining how you can purchase your own copy. That note will need to be returned with either a yes or no concerning book purchase. Students in Grades 3-5 will need to be working on a rough draft that will be due next week so that they can be typed in the computer lab on their computer day. There will be a letter coming home this week with each student in these grades explaining the topic and guidelines. Rough drafts are due on the following dates:
Grade 3 - personal story draft due Jan. 14th
Grade 4 - biography draft due Jan. 12th
Grade 5 - fairy tale draft due Jan. 14th
